MES Training Workshops - A Global Success
Experts in model-based development of embedded software with Simulink®, Embedded Coder®, and TargetLink® are out in the field worldwide.
The training workshop program offered by Berlin-based software company Model Engineering Solutions (MES) has recorded strong growth in international markets. The MES Academy training workshop on the topic of “Model-based Development of Embedded Software in Compliance with ISO 26262 - Challenges and Effective Solutions” is among the most popular. The company's strategy for global growth, network expansion, and development of its training workshop offering is proving to be the right one.
USA and Asia becoming the most important training workshop markets for MES
“This year, we have seen a considerable increase in customers booking on-site training workshops. Among them are customers in Germany as well as in the USA, China, Egypt, and India. We are very pleased with this development. For us, it is encouraging to see that our measures for global growth are being so positively received,” offered Dr. Heiko Dörr, CEO, as a provisional assessment.
The outlook on this trend continuing is good, because ISO 26262 stipulates employee training as part of ISO 26262-compliant development. The option to book a training workshop at MES in Berlin or on-site is adapted to the different needs of large and small companies. For many large customers, the advantage of booking a training workshop on-site lies in the lower travel costs and relevance to their workplace. This way, internal models can be analyzed and improved, and the whole team’s knowledge base can be brought to the same level. For smaller companies, the regular public training workshops are a format that allows them to train their experts. To be able to offer this concept outside of Germany, MES sought out a training workshop partner in the USA.
LHPU: Training partner for ISO 26262 training workshops in the USA
MES has therefore been working with training partner LHP Engineering Solutions since June 2017. The US-based company provides engineering services to the automotive industry. Beyond this, LHP trains engineers in areas such as functional safety, control systems, and engine calibration as part of its LHPU training solutions program. The LHPU program has now been expanded to include the MES training workshop “Model-based Development of Embedded Software in Compliance with ISO 26262” and covers the growing demand for professional development and training on ISO 26262 software development.
The MES Academy is one of MES’ three main company areas. The MES Academy team supports customers in consulting projects by analyzing, introducing, and optimizing ISO 26262- or AUTOSAR-compliant development processes. In addition to this, the training workshops form part of the experienced team’s expertise. In the workshops, the team provides insight into methods, tools, and best practices in quality assurance. Alongside the training workshop “Model-based Development of Embedded Software in Compliance with ISO 26262 - Challenges and Effective Solutions”, tool training events for MES tools and training workshops on “Introduction to Model-based Development with Simulink®, Embedded Coder®, and TargetLink®”, “ISO 26262 Tool Classification and Qualification”, “Functional Safety for Automotive Professionals”, and “Model-based Development in Compliance with IEC 61508” make up the MES offering.
