MES, Inc. Strengthens Its Model-Based Development Training Offering in the U.S.

The five-day MES Summer School was held from July 16 to 20, 2018, in Troy, MI. More courses in the U.S. to come.

Software company Model Engineering Solutions Inc. (MES, Inc.) continues to build and expand its training program in the U.S., having recently wrapped up a five-day intensive training class in Detroit on model-based development. Based on the successful MES Summer School on Introduction to Model-based Software Development that has been held in Berlin, Germany, for the last two years, this training class offered participants a compact entry into model-based software development and quality assurance. Developing and safeguarding safety-critical software in compliance with safety standards such as ISO 26262, ISO 250xx, and ASPICE was key a focal point. Participants had the opportunity to attain the SAE Certificate of Competency by passing an evaluation exercise. A suite of further training classes in the U.S. focusing on model-based development and ISO 26262 will also take place in the latter half of 2018.

Big success in the U.S. and Germany – feedback from the participants

The five-day training class took place this year for the first time in Detroit, MI (from July 16-20, 2018), and for the second time in Berlin, Germany (from June 11-15, 2018) after a successful first edition in 2017. The feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive.

The program – a comprehensive guide to model-based development

The MES Summer School program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive and practical guide to model-based software development and quality assurance. The spotlight is put on requirements elicitation and management and defining architecture and model structure, with a special focus on static and dynamic quality assurance methods.

The MES Summer School takes participants through all relevant process steps, and the theory behind each practical element is outlined in detail, equipping participants with knowledge and skills that they can then apply to their own projects. Once topics have been introduced and discussed, the theory behind them is demonstrated via practical application scenarios on an example project. Beyond this, participants are given constructive recommendations for modeling and safeguarding their models according to standards such as ISO 26262, ASPICE, and ISO 250xx. At the conclusion of the course, participants have the option of achieving the SAE Certificate of Competency by passing an evaluation exercise.

MES, Inc. will host another two training classes later this year in Chicago, IL, and in Pontiac, MI, about “Model-based Development of Embedded Software in Compliance with ISO 26262 – Challenges and Effective Solutions” on the following dates:
