The MES Model Examiner® (MXAM) tool integrates seamlessly with a wide range of tools, providing a centralized and scalable environment while ensuring dependable results. The integrations below represent only a subset of the tools compatible with MXAM.
Many of the integrations described below are also available for other MES products, such as MES Model & Refactor® (MoRe), which has been part of the MXAM Functional Safety Solution since version 10, and MES Quality Commander® (MQC).

Which Toolchain Integrations Do the MES Tools Support?
Deployment Environment: MATLAB, dSPACE TargetLink
MXAM integrates seamlessly into the MATLAB®/Simulink® development environment, allowing static checks to be executed directly from the model. Users can review guideline findings, navigate the model structure, jump to specific model elements, and apply selected ad-hoc fixes where available.
MXAM is fully compatible with the dSPACE TargetLink ecosystem. In addition, MXAM is part of the TargetLink ecosystem, further simplifying integration. The two tools complement each other in safety-critical model-based development: TargetLink generates production code from Simulink models, while MXAM improves model quality by checking modeling guidelines, performing static analysis, and identifying potential issues before code generation.
Version Control: Git, GitLab, Bitbucket
Simulink and Stateflow models can be stored directly in Git repositories, allowing teams to use established version control workflows based on commits and branches. Git-triggered continuous integration (CI) pipelines can automatically execute MXAM checks and generate quality reports as part of the development process.
Working with model-based development in version control systems can be challenging because changes inside models are not always easy to review. Tools such as dSPACE Model Compare complement Git workflows by making model changes easier to visualize and review.
MXAM integrates with GitLab-based development workflows, allowing automated model checks to be executed as part of GitLab CI pipelines. This helps teams include static analysis and guideline checking directly in their existing development process.
MXAM also integrates with Bitbucket-based development workflows. Similar to GitLab, Bitbucket pipelines can be used to execute automated MXAM analyses as part of continuous integration processes.
Automation & Continuous Integration: Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud
MXAM supports Jenkins-based automation pipelines, enabling integration into existing CI workflows. For the fastest setup, the MXAM Jenkins Plug-in provides a configurable interface for running analyses. Alternatively, the integration can be implemented directly using Jenkins pipelines. Email notifications can also be configured to keep teams informed about pipeline progress and analysis results.
To facilitate continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD), a unified workflow and efficient automation are essential. MXAM supports this by integrating with common automation platforms, both on-premises and in the cloud. The solution scales with project size and workload, enabling streamlined and automated quality assurance processes.
Watch the video below to learn more about automation with MXAM:
MXAM is compatible with Docker-based environments, enabling teams to package model checking workflows into containers for consistent and reproducible execution. This is particularly useful in automated toolchains, where the same MXAM setup can be reused across local development, Jenkins pipelines, and other continuous integration systems. Containerized execution also helps reduce environment-specific differences and standardize quality checks across projects.
MXAM can also be deployed in Kubernetes environments. By orchestrating Docker containers, Kubernetes provides a scalable platform for running automated MXAM analyses as part of larger CI infrastructures.
MXAM can be integrated into cloud-based development environments and supports deployment on all major cloud providers, making it suitable for both on-premises and cloud-hosted automation workflows.
Supported Operating Systems: Windows, Linux
MXAM supports both Windows and Linux environments.
MXAM is supported on Windows for local development and interactive model analysis.
MXAM runs on supported 64-bit Linux environments. Linux is also well suited for Docker-based deployments and automated CI environments.
